Hastings and Bexhill travelled to Lewes to play what in fact was a home fixture.
The team lined up with a makeshift backline but cofident they could increase their unbeaten record in the league.
The game started slowly and never really got going, an impressive run by Smith playing his first game for H&B put Roach in to score. The team tried to use this as a sttarting pistol to bring some life into the game which they should win easily. However errors kept creaping into H&Bs play as they tried to play to much instead of concentrating on the basics. Good running lines and support play saw Madigan cross for his first of 2 tries.
The second half saw the game continue in the same rutwhere nothing really ignited. H&B were never really pressured on a day that saw no missed tackles all game. Good hands saw Smith cross for another try. Lewes came back with a try of their own but H&B finished the stronger team, with madigans second and a strong run a good angles saw Stokes cut through to finish a good individual try.
Man of the match was Smith
