One of the most worrying aspects of taking part in amateur sport is the lack of protection afforded to participants in respect of compensation in the event of them being injured. All of us who enjoy our Saturday or Sunday game consider serious injury or a long spell off work as merely a remote possibility or something that will happen to the other person and never to ourselves. Statistically there are many amateur sportsman who have ended their playing days severely disabled. There are, unfortunately, occasions when sporting accidents prove to be fatal.

It is easy to shrug the matter off and take the attitude that the Club will take care of these matters. However, generic insurance, when in place, can often be inadequate.

Each individual player has his or her own requirements depending upon age, marital and family status etc. An individual policy, funded by the player can be arranged to suit the players own circumstances and are often relatively inexpensive.
